Information For Schools
Headline is run by teachers and former Headteachers with extensive experience in both the Primary and Secondary sectors. Some are currently serving as Governors and consultants to local schools.

This range of expertise enables Headline to offer:

• Advice on daily supply, long term and permanent recruitment
• Placement of teachers to the appropriate Key Stage in Primary Schools and subject
  requirements in the Secondary sector
• Teachers trained in the National Literacy and Numeracy Strategies.
• A training and support programme for NQTs
• Training for teachers in new initiatives
• Teachers who bring materials appropriate to the age range they are to teach
• A 24 hour service
• A prompt and efficient response to requests for daily and long-term placements

We are also pleased that a number of Headline teachers have, in the course of their placements, successfully supported the schools through OFSTED inspections, receiving very good reports.

A number of Headline teachers also take up permanent contracts through their assignments with Headline.

Checks
All teachers employed by Headline are interviewed by a senior member of staff. Before any Headline teacher is placed in a school they are checked on the DfEE List 99, an enhanced Criminal Record Bureau (C.R.B), and at least two written references are obtained. Copies of relevant documentation are made available to schools in appropriate circumstances.

Fees/Invoicing
The fees currently charged to schools are:

  • between £145 and £177 per day in Hertfordshire and the Home Counties; and
  • between £155 and £185 per day in Surrey and London .

These rates include all on-costs, although they are subject to VAT. The rate is therefore comparable to that which the school would pay if it recruited its own supply teachers. Invoices are prepared from the timesheets signed by the school and sent out monthly.

Recruitment Fees For Permanent Posts
Our recruitment fee is 15% of gross salary or, 5% if the teacher has worked in the school for a minimum of one term.
